ASSESSMENTS
Personality assessment provides us with an opportunity to focus on ourselves through answering questions about how we like to behave; what our preferred ways of responding to people and information are; what our primary needs may be; and how we like to organize ourselves in our lives. Type theory says that we are hard-wired neurologically to have preferences and that if we adapt excessively, trying to fit familial or cultural norms, it will cause both mental and physical illness. Surprisingly, our North American culture does not readily embrace assessment as a way of helping us grow from our natural talents and abilities; teaching us in the way that we best take in information; or allowing us to cultivate relationships in our own fashion.
I have used personality assessment for the past 30 years and have found them to be enormously helpful for clients for the purpose of building self awareness and self acceptance; understanding relationship dynamics, parenting; career and professional growth; leadership development; coaching; team dynamics; to name a few.
