 Mindfulness Training
Mindfulness-Based Dynamic Coaching or Training is an interactive process in which client and coach work together to bring to light the unconscious factors and systems of beliefs that affect a client’s present behaviour. The goals of this type of coaching are for the client to gain self-awareness, self-mastery and understanding of the influences of the past on his or her present modes of operating. Our practical approach to client problems uses mindfulness-based approaches and techniques to build heightened practical skills and understanding of how automatic thoughts negatively affect moods and perceptions.

The coaching is a systematic, goal-oriented process for creating significant and lasting change in one’s behaviour. This method for coaching incorporating mindfulness techniques and cognitive behavioural approaches was developed to teach individuals how to reframe their experience. When distress, anxious or afraid, we often do not think clearly and our thoughts may become distorted in some way, affecting the way we perceive what is going on. This affects our working relationships and how we see ourselves in relationship to others. It creates stress for our coworkers, and affects our productivity and success.

When able to think on a more realistic level, people feel better, and are able to function more effectively. Through our Mindfulness-Based Dynamic Coaching, we help clients to identify their distressing thoughts and to evaluate how realistic these thoughts are. We also examine limiting or distorted beliefs and attitudes that may accompany such distorted thinking.

Clients then learn techniques to change their distorted thought processes, with the emphasis on solving problems and initiating beneficial behavioural change. Our clients are able to make changes in their lives by simply changing how they think about situations, without having to delve into the reasons why the change is occurring.
