Lately it has become increasingly more difficult to fit everything into a day's schedule. To meet the needs of people who are unable to go to a therapist's office, I offer telephone therapy sessions.
A recent study found that "People taking antidepressant drugs for a bout of depression do particularly well, at least over a 6-month period, if they take part in a program that includes telephone psychotherapy". This study was written in Science News, Aug. 2004.
There are many reasons why individuals are unable to come to a psychotherapist's office and there are many advantages to telephone therapy. For example:
- Certain conditions, such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, prohibit leaving the house
- It is more comfortable and less threatening for to begin therapy over the phone.
- Time is saved in travel time.
- You can speak to a psychotherapist that is not available in your area. Some towns have few if any trained therapists and, even in cities, it can be difficult to find someone you feel comfortable with.
- It ensures privacy for those concerned with public perception.
- Eliminates the need to make arrangements for childcare.
- Individuals whose employment requires extensive traveling may be able to utilize the telephone while they are out of town to continue their treatment.
- Telephone therapy allows you to talk to a qualified and experienced psychotherapist anywhere globally.
Telephone therapy allows you, from the comfort of your own home or office, while on vacation or while traveling to obtain help from an experienced, professional psychotherapist.
The phone therapy I offer includes individual psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, coaching and counseling services nationwide and also internationally. I also offer online assessment and interpretation sessions.
